One of the most common elements, aluminum is by far the most versatile metal, usable in the home, for transportation, in industry and commerce. Approximately 80% of the weight of modern airplanes is aluminum, as are most high-voltage, long-distance power lines. A pound of aluminum can conduct almost twice as much electricity as a pound of copper, despite having just 63% of the electrical conductivity. With a multitude of uses comes a multitude of jobs in working with aluminum.
